On September 11, 2001 Islamic terrorists attacked the United States in an act of war. These Al-Qaeda suicide attackers took advantage of four planes and used them as weapons to target major U.S. figures and kill a mass amount of people. Two planes attacked the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, one plane hit the Pentagon in Washington, DC, and the last plane landed somewhere in a field in Pennsylvania. These acts of terrorism killed almost 3,000 people and many people died afterward due to smoke and debris inhalation. This triggered the U.S. fight against terrorism known as the “war on terrorism” and the hunt against the Taliban.Ajouté au bande de temps:
