Isaac Newton (25 December 1642 – 20 March 1726) was a British mathematician and physicist and a major figure of the scientific revolution during the enlightenment period.
His major contributions include but are not limited to:
- The 3 laws of motion (physics)
- The law of universal gravitation
- The telescope (as we know it today)
- Created calculus
- He determined that white light was a mix of colours which can be separated into its component parts with a prism. (major contributions in optics)
- Refined the scientific method
