1 janv. 1831 - Trail of Tears
Description:
The Trail of Tears was a series of forced relocations of Native Americans in the United States from their ancestral homelands in the Southeastern United States, to areas to the west (usually west of the Mississippi River) that had been designated as Indian Territory. They were not allowed time to gather their belongings, and as they left, whites looted their homes. Then began the march, in which 4,000 Cherokee people died of cold, hunger, and disease on their way to the western lands.
