When Moroni went into the western lands his main purpose was to organize the military there. Soon afterward he would return to the east and help Teancum.

The Lamanites had taken several cities in the west by the time Moroni arrived. He organized the Nephites in that quarter of the land and placed a man named Antipus as captain over them.

Antipus was a righteous man and a good general. He struggled in his campaigns until joined by Helaman and the stripling warriors, but he remained faithful to his charge.

He died in battle soon after Helaman and his men arrived, and Helaman succeeded him as captain in the west.

The events in the west will be distinguished by a lighter green title.
