14 mai 1798 - Vaccine Invention - First vaccination done on May 14, 1796

Description:

The first vaccination was created to heal smallpox by Edward Jenner in 1796. In the original process, doctors would take an infected blister from someone infected with cowpox and then “inoculate” or scratch it into another person’s skin. The first time this was done, Jenner was treating an eight year old boy named James Phipps. The boy had a single blister arise, but later healed. Although this sounds awful, it began the medical search for vaccinations in other diseases like polio, tetanus, and pertussis. Vaccinations are still used today by the everyday human when the flu goes around commonly done during the winter season. The invention also led to longer lifespans and helps prevent common diseases.
