This was a war fought between Spain and the United States that ended Spanish rule in the US, Latin America, and the Pacific Ocean. The War ended with the Treaty of Paris giving Cuba, Guam, and Puerto Rico to the United States as well as transferring sovereignty over Philippines for an exchange of $20,000,000.
