Description:

Thomas Jefferson was the third president of the United States as well as the founding father and principal author of the Declaration of Independence. He was appointed by a former President, George Washington and before being elected, he ran against Alexander Hamilton. Jefferson opposed Hamilton’s and John Adams Federalist Party with his Democratic-Republican Party. In his term, Thomas Jefferson administered the purchase of the Louisiana Territory, commissioned the Lewis and Clark exploration, and focused on keeping America out of Napoleonic Wars.
