19 avr. 1775 - Lexington and Concord
Description:
These battles started the Revolutionary War on April 19th, 1775. Tensions had been building for years between the residents of the 13 colonies in American and the British authorities controlling it. On April 18th, 1775, hundreds of British troops went on a mission from Boston to Concord to capture a weapon’s stash. Paul Revere notified the Patriots of their advance from Boston. At dawn on April 19th, about 700 British troops arrived in Lexington and ordered some heavily outnumbered 77 Patriots to put down their weapons, when a shot was fired. To this day, nobody knows which side fired first. When order was restored, 8 Patriots were dead and nine were wounded and only one Redcoat from the British was injured.
