When discussing Improvisation in lecture, Jazz was brought up. Unlike what is most often believed, jazz is not solos made up widely out of random notes and rhythms. Instead, the style of jazz has to be studied and rules have to be known to have a good improvisation. The video attached was shown so we could see how the head (the entire melody), the chord changes, and the improvised solos come together to create the style of jazz.
