12 déc. 1807 - Invention of the Steamboat (Story: 1/10)

Description:

The steam engine was invented by James Watt in 1769; this was used by Robert Fulton to build the first successful steamboat in 1807. The steamboat replaced wooden keel boats and sailboats. The steamboat was considered an improvement because it relied on clean energy; it was more reliable and could achieve much faster speeds. The steamboat allowed people to trade more efficiently, and because it didn’t need any natural resources in order to run, they could instead be used in factories to increase production.
