Description:
The Battle of Lexington and Concord was the first battle of the Revolutionary War. British troops marched to Lexington in order to capture an arms cache. Night-riders, including the famous Paul Revere, set out to warn colonists about the encroaching British soldiers. The British and the colonists faced each other in Lexington and under intense fire from the colonists, the British retreated. This was the first battle of many that won the 13 colonies their independence from Britain.
