Description:
The Transcontinental Railroad system is a network of railroads that connects the rest of the United States to the west. Before the railroads it could takes weeks or even months for people to travel to the western half of the United States, but after the railroads, travel was streamlined. People could not only travel to the West but they could set up permanent residence.
