The Industrial Revolution was a series of technological and factory based innovations that lead a complete shift in the American work force and economy. Inventions like the assembly line and the light bulb made it possible for things to be mass produced in short amounts of time with extremely high profits. Many immigrants and poor people took jobs in factories because they required no schooling and anybody who was able bodies could perform the necessary tasks. The Industrial Revolution also saw the rise of, “Titans of Industry” who would monopolize industries like steel and oil. America became the major consumer country t is today because the Industrial Revolution allowed things to be made faster and cheap, so people of all incomes could purchase different items than ever before.
