Most famous and recognizable sights in London. Anglican cathedral. the mother church of the diocese. Christopher Wren’s most ambitious work.

original sight was founded in 604 AD, but Christopher Wren designed it with the English Baroque style.

before Wren, the building was much larger but was destroyed by the Great Fire. It was made of wood.
sits on the highest point in london. Ludgate Hill
Dome is significantly large and was the tallest building in london until the 20th century.

The impressive facade at the west side of the church consists of a large portico and pediment. The portico is flanked by two towers which weren’t part of the original plan. Wren added them at the last minute, in 1707.

During WW2, it was stuck by a couple of bombs but was not destroyed. They had to come in and remove a bomb that did not detonate.
