The Queen Anne's War began when Queen Anne become monarch of Britain on March 8, 1702. France and Spain, seeing how economically promising the New World was due in part to tobacco production and trade, wanted to have control of the continent. Queen Anne saw their encroachment into her colonial land and declared war on France and Spain. The British, French, and Spanish were allying with different Native American tribes to fight one other. The Queen Anne's War ended with a truce between Britian, France, and Spain. The war proved how economically promising America had become and how willing other countries were to get a piece of its land.
