5 mars 1770 - Boston Massacre

Description:

In opposition to the Townshend Acts, a crowd of Boston colonists began to protest outside of the Customs House on March 5, 1770. After someone shouted, "Fire!" British soldiers began to shoot into the crowd of people. In the end, five colonists died and six were wounded in what later became known as the Boston Massacre. Colonists were furious that British soldiers would kill their own citizens. The same day as the Boston Massacre, British Parliament repealed most of the Townshend Acts. One tax that they left however was the tax on tea.
