10 févr. 1700 - American Enlightenment
Description:
The American Enlightenment was a period of philosophical and religious change in the colonies. People began to question the societal norms regarding God and human nature. They began to postulate that a person does not need to subscribe to religious books to be in touch with God. Philosophers like John Locke argued for things like natural rights of life, liberty and property, which were not mandated by kings and queens, but they were bestowed upon someone at birth. The Enlightenment was a step towards a less rigid and more accepting nation.
