28 mai 1754 - French-Indian Wars (1754-1763)

Description:

The war began when the French started building forts near the Ohio Valley and parts of southwest Pennsylvania to keep the British away from their trading ports along the Mississippi River. The state of Virginia sent troops led by George Washington to stop the French from building forts. A skirmish broke out and ignited a world war that involved France, Britain, Austria, Russia, Prussia, Spain and Indian Tribes. The war started badly for the British but they soon turned the tides by sending troops from the mainland and a treaty was eventually signed in 1763 bringing the war to an end.
