This trial, which was 100% just a facade for other motives, was directed at Mr. Scopes because he wanted to teach evolution within his school. He was eventually fined $100 (about $2000 in 2017 currency, because yea, inflation is fun), but the trial also served as a "Monkey Trial" because of the fact that William Jennings Bryan said that the bible could be interpreted in different ways. Who knew? People think differently. Absolutely revolutionary.
