1 janv. 1700 - XVIII Century
Description:
As "modern" languages began to enter the curriculum of European schools they were taught using the same basic procedures that were used for teaching Latin.
Examples:
1. Text books consisted of statements and abstract grammar rules
2. List of vocabulary
3. Sentences for translation
Speaking these new foreign languages wasn't the goal and oral practice was limited to students reading aloud the sentence they had translated.
Everything was planed to illustrate the grammatical system of the language.
