20 juin 1764 - Salutary Neglect
Description:
The era of Salutary Neglect was one of the main causes for the Revolutionary war. Some examples of salutary neglect are the Navigation Acts which caused a soar in the prices of goods imported to the colonies. This meant that Americans had to become more self reliant and make their own goods. Another form of Salutary Neglect were the taxes handed down to the colonies on things like tea which lead to the Boston Tea Party. Possibly the most degrading acts was the one that caused Americans to have to house and feed British soldiers.
