Description:
Solon takes power as the annual chief leader, also known as archon, of Athens. Although Solon held a seat of power, he had little legislative power. Solon was of noble decent and is believed to be a merchant before he took power. Solon was also known in Athens as a well respected poet, who often criticized the system through his work.
