28 févr. 1499 - 2. The Columbian Exchange
Description:
The Columbian Exchange was the exchange of plants, animals, people, culture, technology, and diseases that naturally occurred after Christopher Columbus stumbled upon the Americas. Crops from the Americas such as maize greatly boosted European populations. When European colonizers came to Americas they brought with them livestock such as horses. They also brought with them diseases that they unknowingly carried. The Europeans were immune to these diseases having been around livestock such as sheep for centuries as opposed to Native Americans.
