*After unifying to defeat the French*, the colonists were also tired of the Intolerable acts and Britain’s constant control over the colonies, the original thirteen colonies declared independence from England. Thomas Jefferson was a lawyer from Virginia that was chosen to draft the document alongside with others: Ben Franklin, John Adams, and Richard Sherman. This document became the foundation of the United States of America and becomes the most successful Constitution, even in the modern world.
