*After a period of salutary neglect*, the French and British had high tensions with each other and the Seven Year’s War began. Also known as “French and Indian War,” the British brought many colonies together to unify against the French. After losing many battles at first, the British colonies plan of union was drafted by Franklin and called the Albany Plan of Union. This document called for a single legislature from each colony to meet with the congress in order to unify and fight the French together. With the leadership of Benjamin Franklin, the British colonies allied with the Iroquois to fight the French.
