19 h 3 sept. 2004 ans - Dale's leg is eaten by the cannibalistic Hunters. (Issue 63) (Issue 64)

Description:

- Day 412
- The Hunters sit around a picnic table eating dinner in someone's backyard. Charlie returns and tells them he might have been seen. Dale wakes up and their leader, Chris, introduces himself.
- Dale asks him what he wants. Chris tells him that there's a natural order to things now, and they had to pull him away from his group and scare them all. Because a man's gotta eat... Dale looks down and sees his only remaining leg gone.
- Chris goes on about how different people taste better than others and women have an extra layer of fat for child bearing, even Theresa prefers the taste of women. Dale starts crying and then hysterically laughing. He asks why they all thought he was leaving on his own? He was going off to die. Dale then reveals a large bite on his shoulder from an earlier roamer attack (see day 411). They're eating tainted meat! The Hunters spit out their food, Chris kicks Dale in the head until he black out. Albert wants to cut off his tongue which makes no sense, David tells them the meat was cooked and he is alive so there may be no effect. In an effort to scare the others, Chris decides to give Dale back to them.
