The Ruby Brotherband speak with King Jorunn, march on Cyrodiil, fight the Daggerfall Covenant and join the Imperial Separatists

Following the death of his lover and the assumption of her Soul, Gondul Prays to the Eight Divines in front of the fountain where he first met Rowena, awaiting the rest of the Brotherband for a march on Cyrodiil.

Vignar and Occidere shortly arrived, as well as a Dark Elf stranger. The man introduced himself as Raynas of House Marvani, with a somewhat pompous and noble tone.

Needing extra manpower, Gondul offers the man a place in the Brotherband provided he proves himself in combat by accompanying them on their march through Cyrodiil.

Upon crossing the northern border into Cyrodiil, the Brotherband is halted by a Pact soldier who explains that groups of soldiers are not permitted to cross without a General's permission. Gondul subsequently speaks with General Braning in the Ebonheart Pact camp, only for her to deny them entry based on King Jorunn's orders.

The Brotherband decides to split up as Gondul and Vignar ride for Eastmarch to speak with King Jorunn directly in hopes of gaining permission to fight in the war as a unit. Raynas and Occidere remain at the camp to train in the meantime.

Gondul and Vignar have an aggressive audience with King Jorunn. Angry that they had to ride so far north just to get permission, insults are exchanged and weapons are even drawn as Gondul and the King toil. King Jorunn explained that he was being cautious to prevent further infiltrations from the Daggerfall Covenant, but ultimately grants permission for Gondul and his band of mercernaries to enter and fight alongside Pact forces.

The Brotherband proceeded to launch an assault on a Covenant occupied lumber mill alongside Ebonheart Pact troops, successfuly besieging it. Gondul proceeded to order the Brotherband to set up ballistae as the Pact forces launched a siege on Fort Farragut, which they subsequently claimed.

Together with the Pact forces, they rode to defend the main walls near the border of Skyrim as Covenant forces launched an assault.

In the chaos of the defense of the border wall, Occidere is fatally struck by a large volley of Covenant arrows.

Despite this, the Pact successfuly push back the Covenant from the warcamp. The Brotherband ride back to Fort Farragut to strategize, where Gondul recruits Raynas after witnessing his skill in combat.

They decide to ride for the Imperial City to forge an alliance with whatever is left of the Empire. Zanthor arrives shortly after to accompany them, briefly learning of Occidere's death.

The Brotherband are horrified at the distant sight of the Imperial City being uprooted by a dark anchor.

The Brotherband were halted at the main bridge leading into the city by an armored Imperial woman, who reveals herself as a Captain. She mistakes the men for Pact soldiers, telling them to leave.

After explaining they wished to aid the Empire in return for aid in fighting Molag Bal, Captain Drusus explained the divide between the Imperial forces loyal to the Empress-Regent Clivia Tharn, and what was left of the Imperial Separatist forces who opposed her.

Sorely needing assistance following the 2nd Legion's abandonment of Chimera Sanctuary under General Nipia — now referred to as the "Cave of Broken Sails," Captain Drusus formalized terms to allow the men to fight on behalf of the Separatist forces as a small unit.

Gondul signed the necessary documentation, to which the Captain provided the Brotherband with new issued armor from the nearby camp — though Gondul decided to keep his helmet from Atmora.

The Brotherband then retreated from Cyrodiil and rode for Davon's Watch, where they tried to take their minds off of their loss. While at the inn, Gondul received a letter from a courier that was from his childhood friend Guilidus, which stated that he had survived the attack in Solitude and was still alive in Coldharbour.
