1 janv. 1650 - Taiwanese Trade w/ Spain and Dutch
Description:
Both the Spanish and the Dutch established trading outposts in Taiwan, but the Dutch took over the area and made its trade self-sufficient. Sugar and rice plantations grew profitable for the Dutch East India Company, and they eventually gained control of the native population. Their taxes angered many Chinese immigrants, leading to revolts - the Ming Chinese eventually defeated the Dutch and ended trade.
