24 août 1655 - John Casor becomes the first legal slave in the Colonies

Description:

Casor finishes his time as an indentured servant for Anthony Johnson. He is then employed under Robert Parker. Johnson takes Parker to court since he says that Casor is still his indentured servants. The court ruling results in Casor being sentanced to life in servitude to Anthony Johnson.
