(Rabies)
Description:
First vaccine for rabies was by Louis Pasteur in 1885
Symptoms:
fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, agitation, anxiety, confusion, hyperactivity, difficulty swallowing, excessive salivation, hallucinations, insomnia, and partial paralysis. Symptoms apply to all who are infected.
Treatment:
-Going to a doctor or medical care after exposure to rabies to get vaccinated with Rabies immune globulins which contains antibodies from blood donors.
-3 current vaccines for rabies
History:
-1898: First Confirmed Case of Animal Rabies in Los Angeles
-1899: First Human Death from Rabies in Los Angeles
-1987: Last Domestic Animal with Rabies in Los Angeles
