Same-sex couples sued state agencies in Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, and Tennessee to challenge their bans on same-sex marriage. In each case the trail court ruled in favor of the plaintiffs but the U.S court of appeals reversed the ruling. However, the Supreme Court ruled in a 5-4 decision that same-sex marriage is protected under the 14th amendment. Because it took until 2015 for this right to be confirmed to all citizens, they did not enjoy the rights that should've been guaranteed to them in the constitution.Ajouté au bande de temps:
