When the Umayyads were expanding and moving their religion along, Charles Martel stopped the Muslims in their tracks in Spain. Charles Martel stops the influence from reaching the entire country, but Islam still influences many. This stop was important because if it didn’t happen, Islam could have taken over much of Europe, and Christianity would have never have become as widespread. In addition, Islam could have been the worldwide religion and accepted as fact throughout the world.
