20 juill. 1253 - Marco Polo's (1253 C.E.-1324 C.E.) trip to China (1271 C.E.-1295 C.E.)

Description:

Marco Polo is the best-known traveler of Mongol times, and across all of his expeditions, he made a trip to China, where he met the Mongolian Leader, Khubilai Khan. When he was there, he accomplished diplomatic missions and trading, but these were only possible because Khubilai took a liking to him. Similarly, he was granted permission by Khubilai to leave the Mongol territory and return to Venice, where he began more traveling. (3.1)
