In Ancient Greece, the polis of Athens had began to give the people more freedom and allowed for more people to have a say in the government: this allowed for what was better for the greater population, not just what was good for those in power or had tons of money. Democracy is still very prevalent today, and in fact, 58% of governments today are democracies. This form of government enables for the common people to give their opinions and everything to be done with the people in mind.
