Agrippa Mento, a young Imperial Scout, is sent on a longboat fully armored and prepared to help the Imperial Separatists besiege Anvil from the Loyalist Imperials — Loyalists who served Emperor Leovic.

He is nearly killed in the ineffective charge up the northern beaches of Anvil as arrows, fire, lightning, and trebuchet's rain down on the troops who marched ever onward in vain — attempting to ram through the gates.

He somehow manages to survive the ordeal and stealthily sail up the Strid River — eventually regrouping with a new Unit.

Because of the horrors he witnessed on the beaches of Anvil, Agrippa was traumatized for life. Despite this, he remained in the Imperial Army until Clivia Tharn's upheaval of the Imperial City, which Agrippa only fought in briefly before he fled, hiding away in his small home to forget about the past.

It wasn't until The Ruby Brotherband found him many years later after Varen's Revolt that he decided to aid the Imperial Separatists once more, in a more passive fashion.
