Description:

The First Crusade was the first of 9 wars, which were all fairly short, but inflicted huge damage on all sides. Pope Gregory created an army by promising immediate salvation, as well as in release. This was highly effective, and he made a large army, which was only good enough for 1 victory. After that, they did not win a single another battle, which was not very good for the Christians. The Crusaders proceeded to surprise the Seljuks, ransack Jerusalem, and kill all the Jews and Muslims. (3.1)
