Description:

Jaime Ferran tested out a vaccine against cholera on himself and then inoculating around 30k people, but the vaccine was short lived and not very effective. In this same year, Max Von Pettenkofer drank a solution that had stool to prove that is wouldn’t cause cholera because he believed miasma caused cholera. He then became sick with cholera-like diarrhea, but didn’t die and believed his theory was correct.
