In the Renaissance period many continents were discovered by actors somehow Christofer Columbus who were born in Italy . His plan was to find a new sea-lane over atlantic to India. His journey began in Spain and his discovery of the new continent Amerika took 33 days sailing. After exactly 33 days the ship landed to one of the Bahamas islands. Christofer Columbus gave it the name San Salvador. After that Christofer Columbus also detected Kuba.
