The Zimmermann note was a coded note from the German minister Arthur Zimmermann to a German minister in Mexico. It says that if the U.S takes part in the war, the countries of Germany and Mexico should become allies, so Germany can help Mexico gain back old territories they had such as Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona.
