5 mars 1770 - Boston Massacre

Description:

Tension was high between the colonies and Great Britain, Britain kept forcing taxes on the colonies and the colonists protested them. The king, upset with the colonists sent British soldiers to Boston to enforce the laws forced upon the colonists. On March 5, 1770, colonists were yelling insults at soldiers and throwing rocks and snowballs at the soldiers. During this, a soldier, possibly accidental, fired off a shot at the crowd, causing others to fire as well. Five people were killed and six others were wounded. While not actually a massacre, the colonists warped it to be so, using propaganda to make the incident seem purposeful and terrible.
