Leovic, a Reachman and one of the several Longhouse Emperors, was crowned either during or before 2E 566, and often spent his summers vacationing in Anvil Castle.

At some point in the future, he legalized Daedra worship across the Empire. This sparked much outrage throughout Cyrodiil, and fragmented the Imperial Legion.

This ultimately resulted in Varen Aquilarios, the Duke of Chorrol, to take up arms and conspire against the Reachman Emperor and lead an uprising.

Those who remained loyal to Emperor Leovic were coined "Loyalists," and those who sided with the Colovian Duke considered themselves "Separatists."
