Why didn’t you leave Iraq after you couldn’t use your camera any more?LA: I think that being outside is more difficult; it’s tougher to exist. To leave, one had to leave behind one’s loved ones. I couldn’t do that. My roots are here, and this is my land. I didn’t want to leave just because things were bad.
