5 sept. 1774 - September 5th, 1774 - First Continental Congress

Description:

Description: Twelve of the thirteen colonies met as a group in hopes of repealing the Intolerable Acts set by King George of Great Britain.
Causes: Americans had had enough from the British after the enforcement of the Intolerable Acts and, thus, the patriotic cause was at its highest point. The British had also decided to make consequences for Boston after the Boston Tea Party in the following summer.
Historical Impact: While they did agree to continue the patriot movement, the people participating in the meeting did construct the Continental Association in its Declaration and Resolves. This document officially declared boycott against British products.
