1 mai 1588 - Spanish Armada Lost
Description:
The Spanish Armada was a seemingly indestructable fleet of 130-ships dispatched by Spanish king, Philip II, as part of a planned invasion of England. After eight hours of fighting, the Spanish broke off from the battle and retreated. The brutal defeat of the Spanish Armada led to a surge of national pride in England and a lot of religious conflict because a Protesant nation beat a Catholic nation and led to a surge of national pride in England. The Spanish Empire became bankrupt and caused a rift of powers in Europe.
