22 avr. 1915 - First use of chemical weapons

Description:

A special unit of the German Army released over 150 tons worth of chlorine gas on the French and British troops. The steel cylinders were installed over 3 weeks earlier. The wind patterns were crucial, because it could easily backfire, had the wind been going the way of the Germans. Over 1000 French and Algerian soldiers were killed using this, while wounding about 4000 more people.
