22 avr. 1500 - Brazil was Reached
Description:
In 1500, Pedro Cabral first reached Brazil by accidentally using a current in the North Atlantic Ocean. He also discovered a way to get to India more efficiently, because this current flowed down to the Cape of Good Hope. Cabral was supposed to follow the same route as da Gama around Africa to India, however, he accidentally sailed too far south west into the Atlantic Ocean.
