5 mars 1770 - The Boston Massacre

Description:

Tensions between the colonists and the British reached a new high when protesters in Boston were fired on by British soldiers, five people were killed, and the soldiers were tried for their actions. This showed to the colonists, that the British were not hesitant to fire on their own people, even if the 'massacre' may have been caused by accident. Later on the same day, the Parliament repealed many of the Townshend acts, but kept the tax on the tea.
