Description:

Although this was not an event but an ideology, it really changed the US forever. Manifest Destiny was the idea that the US had the god given right to expand it's borders all the way to the Pacific Ocean. A more logical reason would be that population was growing rapidly and american families were look more places to move an example would be Stephen F Austin helping 300 families emigrate to settle into Texas. This ideology led to a somewhat controversial war along with opening a path towards the Civil War.
