Was established in Tennessee, wanted to terrorize African Americans.Causes: Formed by six former officers of the Confederate army as a fraternal social club inspired at least in part by the then largely defunct Sons of Malta.
Impact: Causes lots of violence and caution throughout the country for blacks, increasing racial issues.
