Description:
An act passed by Andrew Jackson that allowed the president to negotiate with Native American tribes for their land in exchange for reservations in Oklahoma. Many thought Jackson was overstepping his bounds as president and becoming a tyrant. This also resulted in the forced removal of many Native Americans in the infamous trail of tears.
